How do I convert cubic meters to metric tonnes?

Why does the answer change when I pick a different substance?
Because cubic meters measures volume while metric tonnes measures weight, and every substance packs a different mass into the same space. One US cup of water weighs about 236.6 g, while a cup of spooned flour is closer to 125 g.
How accurate are the density values?
