FAQ
How does weighted grading work?
Course grade = Σ(category average × category weight). If your final is worth 30%, the other 70% of your grade is already locked in.
How do I calculate what I need on my final?
Rearrange the weighted formula: needed = (target − current × (1 − finalWeight)) ÷ finalWeight. Target 80 with a 75 at 70% weight needs (80 − 52.5) ÷ 0.3 = 91.7 on the final.
Do colleges recalculate GPA?
Many do — excluding non-academic courses and reweighting honors/AP — so their number can differ from the one on your transcript.
