FAQ

What PPI is considered sharp?

For desktop monitors viewed at arm's length, ~110 PPI is standard and ~160+ looks crisp. Smartphones held closer usually need 300+ PPI, roughly the limit of average eyesight.

Does higher PPI drain battery?

Yes — more pixels means more backlight area and GPU work. That is why many laptops and phones render at native resolution but scale the UI to keep text sharp.

How is PPI calculated?

Take the diagonal resolution in pixels (square root of width² + height²) and divide by the physical diagonal in inches. A 1920×1080 24-inch screen is about 92 PPI.
