FAQ
How often should I change my oil?
Follow the manual, not the sticker. Modern engines on full synthetic commonly run 10,000–16,000 km; conventional oil is closer to 5,000. Severe duty — short trips, towing, dust, cold climates — cuts intervals roughly in half.
Is synthetic oil worth the extra cost?
Usually yes. Per-change it costs about double, but the interval stretches 2–2.5×, so the per-kilometer cost in the results often comes out lower. You also get better cold-start protection and less sludge over the engine's life.
Is DIY oil change worth it?
The savings are real but modest — typically 30–50 per change. Factor in oil and filter sourcing, a drain pan, ramps, and getting used oil to a recycler (many shops take it free). If you value your Saturday time above 20/hour, the shop wins.
