FAQ

Would I really weigh more on Saturn?

Slightly — Saturn's surface gravity is about 1.07 g. Jupiter is the real heavyweight at 2.53 g, while tiny Pluto would make you feel feather-light at 6% of Earth weight.

Why is Saturn's gravity so low for its size?

Saturn is enormous but not dense — its average density is less than water. Surface gravity depends on both mass and radius, and Saturn's huge radius spreads that mass far from the surface.

Does my mass change between planets?

Never. Your atoms travel with you untouched; only the gravitational pull on them differs. A 160 lb person on Earth carries the same 72.6 kg of mass everywhere in the universe.
