Are these live rates?
No — they are indicative mid-market reference rates stored in the app so the converter always works offline. Banks and card networks add a margin on top.
How is the conversion calculated?
Amount × (rate-to ÷ rate-from). Both rates are quoted against USD, which acts as the neutral bridge currency.
Why does my bank use a different rate?
Financial institutions add a spread (often 1–3%) and may charge fees on top of the mid-market rate, so the amount you actually receive is usually lower.
