FAQ
Why is my transfer slower than the advertised speed?
Marketing quotes the physical layer in megabits; you pay overhead in megabytes. TCP/IP headers, encryption, drive speed, and contention typically leave 50–75% of the headline figure — hence the efficiency slider.
MB/s vs Mbps — what's the difference?
Eight megabits make one megabyte. A 100 Mbps connection moves at most 12.5 MB/s, which is why a 50 GB game download takes over an hour, not the seven minutes the raw number suggests.
Why do USB speeds vary so much?
USB 3.0's 5 Gbps is the bus speed, not the drive. A spinning hard drive caps near 150 MB/s, flash drives vary 30–400 MB/s, and cables or hubs can silently downgrade the link to USB 2.0.
