FAQ

Why does doubling speed quadruple energy?

KE = ½mv² is quadratic in velocity. A crash at 60 mph carries 4× the energy of 30 mph, not 2× — the core physics behind speed limits.

Kinetic vs potential energy — what is the difference?

Kinetic is energy of motion (½mv²); potential is stored energy of position (mgh). Pendulums, falling objects and roller coasters trade one for the other.

How much energy does a bullet carry?

A 9 g bullet at 380 m/s carries about 650 J — like dropping a 1 kg mass from 65 m, concentrated into a tiny point.
