Does mass affect fall time?
In vacuum, no — a hammer and feather land together, as Apollo 15 demonstrated on the Moon. In air, drag makes shape and density matter, but for compact objects under a few hundred meters the difference is small.
How fast do you fall from 10 m?
Ignoring air resistance, t = √(2h/g), so 10 m takes about 1.43 s with an impact speed near 14 m/s (50 km/h) — roughly the speed of a sprinting cyclist.
What is terminal velocity?
When drag equals weight, acceleration stops. For a skydiver belly-down that is about 55 m/s (200 km/h); a pinpoint dive can exceed 90 m/s. This calculator's vacuum model applies below that regime.
